THE VISION: Stories Love Music's creative engagement program is a proven, evidence based method used widely with availability to all who need it.
Where did this vision come from?
Today in 2019: The Tsunami of the aging population continues to swell and there is more and more need for real tools to communicate with people with dementia, for both professional and family caregivers. The caregiver population is 40 million plus in this country and most do not have opportunities to “not be a caregiver” and address their own self care and burnout prevention. Without expansion of this program we will only have isolated anecdotal examples of success and a limited team to do outreach and facilitation of this program, meaning we wont reach all the caregivers and in turn can't affect the care of all the senior citizens.
So what can we do? With sufficient funding and expansion here is what the future holds for Stories Love Music:
*Tools and Training are available to anyone who needs them. *Caregivers know about and have access to Stories Love Music programs. *More caregivers are reducing their stress and burnout and improving their care of seniors. *Stories Love Music's creative engagement program is an evidence-based method widely known as effective. *Curriculum and train-the-trainer of program is available and many people already trained. *Increase of Collaboration and partnerships improve outreach. *Funding and sustainability stabilized.
How can we do it? Strategies and Tactics 1) Make it Real : Build the Foundation Create the guide Document curriculum Create and Deliver Train-the-Trainer Complete outcomes study 2) Make it Work: Transform the System Increase awareness and outreach to new constituents Continue to grow Train the Trainer and workshops Provide follow up services and support to those already trained 3) Sustain the Gains Continue to Increase outreach Develop new funding sources and collaborations
